Would give lower if possible. Ordered the Wagyu Steak for the wife and I. When they arrived they were cooked to order but one of the steaks was of a shocking quality with sinew and tendon all through it. Nobody came to ask if the meal was okay. I stated however that the meal was unsatisfactory when the lady eventually came to take the full plate away. I told her what the problem was and never heard anymore about it until we were leaving. We were then offered a desert or voucher!! The point that I was more annoyed about however was the ordering of a soft drink for my 8yr old daughter which the waitress new about. We ordered a ginger beer (alcohol free obviously as stated) which we made clear. After she had drank some of the tin we discovered they had given her an alcoholic drink! They are busy at this place but quality is awful. When another establishment in town sorts an outlet that delivers food of a reasonable standard this place will be history.. A shambles.. Worth mentioning that at no point was I offered a refund for the inedible steak... 🤬 For discerning customers after more than a feed I would avoid thus food hall...
I went here on Valentine’s Day tonight (14/02/2024) and you only get 1 chance at a first impression and I’m really not happy with the experience I had tonight.
To preface my review I drove from cloncurry right after finishing work at 5pm
I understood completely that tonight was going to be busy and was lucky enough to get a table for two, after waiting some time for the table to be cleaned we were seated and quickly given some drinks, I had a Jack and Coke and my girlfriend had a lemonade, drinks were fine. We placed our order at 6:55pm for garlic bread, meat lovers parmi and a rump steak, we started our wait at 6:55pm and was given our garlic bread at around 7:20pm after some discussion between my girlfriend and i about our plans later that evening we decided that our food should be at our table no later than 7:40pm we waited for a long time and the time started to close in on an hour since ordering, at 7:50 I walked up to the bar and asked if they could go see what’s going on with our order as we had seen people around us who got seated after and ordered food after us get their food before us and leave.
Upon coming back to our table the bar girl said it was being plated, much to our delight we were excited to eat, my girlfriend and I decided to put a timer on and if the food didn’t arrive by the timer we would leave, which is fair enough 5 minutes to plate 2 dishes is more than enough time.
Unfortunately they couldn’t complete this in time and my girlfriend and I decided to go elsewhere, we asked for a refund and only got a refund for the food that hadn’t arrived.
What can the buffs club do better
• show the same respect to non members as they do members, this means giving the food in order you get them rather than prioritising members first
• Show more transparency and attentiveness to your patrons who are paying a lot to be there
• give a full refund for all food and drinks to encourage patrons to come back another time
Unfortunately I won’t be coming back to the buffs club as I think they handled my experience poorly and on Valentine’s Day ruined my night out with my girlfriend.
Great menu. Friendly efficient service. Delicious. Homemade chips. Pasta was perfectly al dente.
Called into the Buffs for lunch yesterday. Monday 18th Dec.
Hubby had Lamb Curry, which he liked I had Chicken, Onion and Cheese toasted sandwich, which was nice. Both had a coffee.
First time at the Buffs, since the upgrade. The club looks very nice.
All common areas and amenities were lovely and clean. Love the sports bar... will have to go back to have a couple of beers there.
Had dinner here passing through Mt Isa on our way to Brisbane. What a pleasant experience!! From being welcomed at the door to our food order being taken, the absolute friendliest and most professional service we experienced in a long time. And the food was great. Will absolutely recommend.
Caught the courtesy shuttle from the caravan park and arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday night. Note to self: make reservations if you want to sit in dining room. I had the snapper, exceptional! (But I do like mash potato and moist snapper covered in creamy buttery garlic sauce!) a couple of pieces of crisp broccoli would have added to the experience but at 400 grams of fish, there was more than enough to eat.
Hubby had the weekly special. Herb crusted lamb rack on ratatouille with minted mushy peas. He’s a bit of a foodie and got the chef Danesh to come out to speak with him because he said it’s probably the best meal and mixture of flavours that he has eaten in the past few years!
Wine selection is reasonable for a club.
Desserts are served next door in coffee shop.
Buffs Club is great for a night out after a long trip. Meals are great value, nice presentation, delicious, and fast service. Staff are always friendly from the nice greeting at the door to reception, cafe, bar, wait staff, and the courtesy bus driver.
We’ve had a fabulous night tonight at The Buffs for our 49th wedding anniversary. The meals were excellent and our table service from Harmony and Sally was outstanding. They looked after us exceptionally well and ensured we had the best night.
